i. must. make. a bat shawl. yes, i know i just said i wanted to make sweaters and then there’s the bazillion socks i’m going to make by next spring and projects around the house and i haven’t forgotten that the knitting olympics summer trials are right around the corner. it’s just that it’s a shawl. with bats on it. plus, if i make it soon i can i wear it halloween and then all through november while i write a novel about demons for nanowrimo.

this was one of my favorite songs when i was 9
1. there are 6 properties using 11 fences bordering my property. all, but one of the fences, are in serious disrepair. ugh. i’m not exactly sure what i’m going to do about it, but im definitely doing something about it by next spring.
2. there is this very lovely, old, victorian house i walk by all the time. it’s been empty for a while and needs quite a bit of work. i’m so happy because yesterday i saw people fixing the porch.
3. there were 2 hummingbirds in my yard this morning. woo hoo! hummingbirds are awesome!
when you toss a penny it is more likely to land tails up than heads up because the heads picture of a penny weighs more than the tails picture.
i am grateful for…yellow flowers…hummingbirds…petunias growing out of cracks in the sidewalk…rooms full of books…limeade…

i was trying to carry an awkward sized box down to the basement and i forgot to flip the switch for the light because usually that light is on but for some reason it wasn’t and i was losing my grip on the box so rather than put the box down to turn the light on i just kept going and i missed one of the steps and slipped and slid down the stairs and hit myself in the eye with the corner of the box but fortunately my eye was closed and now my eye is a little bruised and my back hurts but mostly i’m okay so then i was hobbling around in my dark basement with my hands held out over my head trying to find a pull chain for a light that burnt out when i turned it on so i went back toward the stairs and tripped over the box and fell up the stairs and decided i was done for today
