this week i am grateful for the stunning display the yucca put on this year…my visit to the friendship gardens, which totally rocked…sometimes, when things are going poorly for me, i remind myself that “everything is as it should be in this moment”. i generally do not believe this but i say it anyway. the other day i said it and i knew it was true. i am grateful for that…a couple moments later, i came to the realization that just because “everything is as it should be” doesn’t mean i have to be content with it. i am grateful for that too…and last but not least, i am grateful for burdock.

mel has tagged me, so here goes

4 years ago, when m first moved to northwest indiana, we decided we needed to visit the international friendship gardens right away. we got right on that and visited them yesterday. we are “take action” people.

the gardens are taken care of by volunteer only. i don’t think they get enough people so some spots are looking a little shabby, but i don’t care. i think it’s absolutely awesome.

unfortunately, my camera ran out of batteries before we got to the international gardens. they are small, but lovely.
the best part of the gardens, for me, are the giant burdock everywhere. i would marry giant burdock if wouldn’t leave burrs all over my dogs.
