my final word count for nanowrimo: 29,548. sooo close. i think over this next year i’m going to learn how to type. the two finger hunt and peck method that i currently use makes it really hard to think and write. i spent a lot of the last couple days wondering how the hell i managed to make it through 50,000 words last year. i think i also need to learn how to describe things better. i am losing lots of word opportunities with my minuscule descriptions.

i did much better with nablopomo. a blog post everyday is harder than it sounds. i have to thank anybody who makes quizzes and you tube without whom i would never have been able to realize my dream of 30 posts in 30 days.

now that all of this is over i can get back to the important things like baking cookies and planning my birthday cake.

writing, writing & more writing

i’m pretty sure i won’t be finishing my novel this year. i’m still trying to get as many words written as i can and it’s been a little bit more fun now than it was the beginning of this month. i should get back to the writing so i’ll leave you with an excerpt of one of my favorite albums.

i will never make 50,000 words

because instead of writing i futzed around on you tube where i learned how to dance at a rave, how to charge an iPod using electrolytes and an onion, and how to write a fugue. then i headed over to instructables where i learned the very important art of making mobile stripper poles. i am the most excellent time waster ever.

sadly, i have fallen down on my novel writing duties. i was going pretty good for the first couple of days. i wrote 8,000 words and then nothing. this month went by so fast and now i have about 2 days to write 42,000 words. so i’m not going to waste anymore of those words here. at least not tonight.

You Are Eggnog

Rich, sweet, and probably a little drunk. Everyone who knows you tends to get a little fatter.

What Holiday Food Are You?

i may or may not have mentioned that the walls and ceilings of my home are plaster. the top coat of the plaster was mixed with aggregate to give it an orange peel texture. i am not fond of the texture and will be removing it. it turns out the whole procedure will be pretty easy and simple. yea! for easy and simple! while i’m at it i will be filling in nail holes and cracks and what not. in order to do this i have to take down any curtains. i will still have curtains in the bathroom and i’ll be moving to the basement for the most part while i do the dusty work. i think i should leave the windows without curtains until i finish the floors which is also really dusty work. plus, by this coming spring, i plan on being able to start restoring the windows. curtains would definitely get in the way there. i don’t think not having curtains will bother me, but what if it does? if i got really self conscious i could just tape tissue wrapping paper directly to the windows, right? what do you think? is there a better way to handle this?

the nablopomo chain letter

Friday, November 23rd, 2007

phoebe tagged me for a meme that’s going around.

Here’s how it’s done:

a. Link to the person that tagged you and post the rules on your blog. [see above]

b. Share 7 random and or weird things about yourself. [see below]

1. i find making lists grounding. they help me create a little order out of what seems like chaos.

2. i used to have a bad problem with insomnia. i tried many things and the thing that works the best? cd’s of people talking. i usually use those self hypnosis cd’s because i’m lazy and i don’t want to have to find my place in a book every night.

3. when i was in the third grade a girl in my class had lice. i purposely used her comb over and over so i could get lice too. it didn’t work. i have never had lice. i guess they don’t like me. *sniffle*

4. i generally do not like purple, but i really really really want to paint my bedroom a silvery/grey shade of purple. what’s up with that?

5. i do not eat pudding because the texture makes me gag.

6. i love eggs. i will eat them almost any way they are prepared. i feel the same way about potatoes.

7. the day after thanksgiving i put my radio on the christmas carol station and it stays there until christmas is over.

c. Tag 7 random people participating in nablopomo at the end of your post and include links to their blogs. [ummm…i hate to pass chain letters on. participate if you like]

d. Let each person know that they have been tagged by leaving a comment on their blog. [see c]

remember the old days when you would get a chain letter and in the letter they would tell you all of the horrible things that had befallen people who had not forwarded the letter?

good times

happy thanksgiving
