it’s also really windy and warm. yippee for warmth. booo for humidity. i guess it’s time to drag out the dehumidifier. because my basement windows are so leaky the basement gets pretty damp. without a dehumidifier it’s be like a cave down there. maybe i should try growing my own mushrooms. that would be cool wouldn’t it? speaking of new projects, have you seen these? i think i need to make me some felt covered rocks. they’d make excellent paper weights don’t ya think?

so, up until recently i have not been a big fan of knitting my own socks. lots of people like it but it required dpns and they look complicated and i am too lazy for complicated. then, i found out you could crochet socks and that is so much easier and then dpns started looking less complicated and all of the sudden making my own socks hopped right up to the top of the list of must do things. while wandering around the internet looking at sock patterns i came across the 52 pair plunge. can you believe it? they made a pair of socks a week for a whole year. and they’re going to do it again starting june 1. i want to join ‘em. i want to make 52 pairs of socks in 52 weeks, but i’m afraid i’d be lucky to make 1 pair of socks in 52 weeks. i’ve been back and forth about it. should i? shouldn’t i? what’s the worst that could happen? i think i’m gonna do it.

looked like it was fall already. yesterday was 80 and sunny, today was in the mid 50’s and overcast. i know that in a week it’ll be hot and summery and i’ll be whining about the humidity, but today i want to know why i still have to wear my jacket? why?

happy memorial day

so, i got new shoes yesterday and i *heart* them so very much. i can’t where them though. wanna know why? because i wore my other shoes into the ground. i didn’t break down and get new shoes until the only thing holding the old shoes together was dirt. you could see my socks through all the holes in my old shoes. the new shoes do not have holes or cracks or anything like that and so, are too nice to wear. i feel like i need a special occasion or something. i am the tiniest bit crazy, maybe.

ARE YOU FREAKING KIDDING ME??!!!

today was flea medication day here at casa furball. my cats are a bit like me, they don’t like being handled much. so, administering the medication can be unpleasant. well, it’s unpleasant until you get to boo and then it’s death defying. she squirms and she growls and she scratches and SHE BITES. she has a you’llnevertakemealive attitude to being medicated. she’s scary. very, very scary. fortunately, we made it through today without any trips to the hospital and i’ll live to deflea another day.

i’m not as cranky today. i still want to send out some evil voodoo greeting cards (dog owners i’m looking at you), but i don’t feel the need to send them to everyone. plus, i had to deal with the bank today and it was easy and painless and almost pleasant. how often does that happen?
