Honey Chain

right now there is the tiniest spider (seriously, super tiny) building the most ginormous web on my computer. i’ve accidentally trashed the web twice while goofing around the internet tonight. on the one hand, i feel bad cuz that has got to be A LOT of work. on the other hand, i’m wondering if i were to do it again would the little spider give up and go build it’s web somewhere else? am i a big meanie? also, why does mr. teeny tiny spider need such a big web anyway? and more importantly, why is he building it on my computer? is my computer a popular insect hang out? why? why are the creepy crawlies hanging out by my computer?

i was not feeling necessarily grateful today because that’s just how i roll some days. then i came across a gentle reminder about choice. i am grateful to have choices even if i don’t always choose wisely.

just having one of those days where i’m like “whuh? i swear i did not see that bus coming.” i got my feelings hurt today and i’m not quite sure how to respond to all of it yet. i think i’ll start with some cookies and chocolate milk.

i’ve been searching the internet to find out what kind of spider is lurking around my window. it’s an orb weaver that’s as close as i could get. after looking at page after page after page of pictures of spiders i have the heebee-jeebees and every time a stray hair touches my arm i freak out. stupid spiders.

there’s errata for this pattern here but i found this discussion on craftster very helpful. once i got the hang of it, the capelet knit up pretty quickly. if i did it again i would probably use smaller needles. i usually knit very tightly and automatically went for the big (us19) needles. for the first time in my life i knit pretty loosely. my capelet doesn’t look as snazzy as say…this lovely example but i’m likin’ mine quite a bit anyway so no worries.

my neighbors are emptying their pools and hanging them up to dry. i had not realized how many of my neighbors had pools until this week. i think i am the only one who does not have a pool. no wonder i’m so unpopular.

i am grateful for my pets and family and friends.
